“There is a house. And the house talks. There is a street . And the street does not talk. It is there, grey, of a grey silence. There are some people. And they are waiting. The grey colour and the words. The words and the grey colour. There is a corner. And just like any corner, it shows that things never go straight. It is at the corners that things happen and meet There is a corner and the corner plays». It is at the corners that things happen and it is in a corner of this world that two wretched people, looking for luck, arrive. It is at the corners that things meet. And so, the two unlucky people meet a group of foolish guys that live in that corner”
“Se Ci Fosse Luce. Intervalli di Un Secolo” “If There Was Light – Intervals of a Century”, is the story of the consequences of this meeting. It goes from scepticism to violence, from patriotic union to great ideals, from the will to dominate to rebellion. This meeting is like the collision of two worlds: one is too old and the other one is still incapable to come into world. “Se Ci Fosse Luce. Intervalli di Un Secolo” (“If There Was Light – Intervals of a Century”), is also a circus, where there are fierce beasts and scanty men, unstable balanced people and people in steady fever, clowns and tamers. However, it is , nevertheless, a love story too. It is an indecent and an unbecoming love, just as only love can be. Finally, “Se Ci Fosse Luce. Intervalli di Un Secolo” (“If There Was Light – Intervals of a Century”) is a xx century story. It is, actually, nine hundred stories, of nine hundred different, powerful, weak voices, taken from every corner.

Notes of the Art Director (Considerations of the creative process)
The shows performed by Teatro dei Venti, with the dramaturgy by Vittorio Iervese and Francesca Ferri, and Mario Barzaghi as an Art Direction Advisor, marks a new stage of four year research study of this theatre. This creation path puts the actor to the center of the artistic space of the theatre, through the support of his body with its artistic effects. It is a poetic place where the actor, the music and the striking surrounding meet and interact. The dramaturgy tendency is deliberately not linear, it is not descriptive, not narrative, anti-television. In fact the spectator will be invited to a banquet where the aspects of ‘900 are covered with theatrical flavorings that assign another taste. The intent of this staging is to project our gests towards an intuitive and emotional experience, towards that childish peculiarity that has faded in the adults. The Teatro dei Venti tries to bring it to life again through images, texts, music and actions. After all the only target of this path and of this show is to share with our guests, in a small amount of time, the experience of a century, with its striking memory.
